Pilates - Core Strength, Flexibility & Balance

Pilates Certification Course

Many people use this system of movement not only as a workout regime, but as a preventative system of health. By learning to keep the internal stabilizers connected, many issues that come up as we age can be avoided for example; lower back problems.

Students who undertake these training programs learn to teach from the ground up, learning through a natural sequence of our module based certification programs.

Students enrolled undertake a number of steps to receive certification:

This course will help you deepen your Pilates practice whether you currently take mat or equipment classes. This course is also the first step to becoming a certified Pilates instructor.  In this course students will learn and practice the mini movements within the Pilates Mat exercises, among other things like, terminology, anatomic movements, the vertebrae, postures etc.  They will develop a deeper integration of the repertoire into their body, resulting in a more effective ability to practice and/or teach Pilates.  Pilates 101 is a prerequisite for the Pilates Equipment Teacher Certification.

This is the next step in becoming a Certified Pilates Mat Teacher.  Students will learn and  be ready to teach the Pilates exercises, non-apparatus program, to any group. This course prepares you to teach the Classic Pilates mat exercises.

The Pilates method, conceptually and physically, is the cornerstone of the training. Our program, however, uses modern techniques that will help you customize your Prenatal clients' wellness and fitness needs.

Our program will prepare the fitness professional to guide their pregnant client through their 9 months of pregnancy with information and actual sample movement lesson plans on what works for each stag.

These are designed to be effective, safe, and to keep your client feeling good and easy in her constantly evolving body. The focus is to prepare the body for labor, delivery, and the healing process that immediately follows.

An elegant & clear learning process seamlessly presented by Maria Forrest.  You will understand the fine points of the apparatus exercises; relevant anatomy; modifications and contra-indications; spring formulas; and how to teach real people, not just other instructors.

Suggested and contra-indicated exercise protocols for: Rotator Cuff Disorders, Shoulder Instability, Frozen Shoulder, Scoliosis, Adaptive Muscles Changes, Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction, Piriformis Syndrome, Bursistis, Hip Replacement, Knee/Leg Disorders, Patellofemoral Syndrome, Meniscal Injuries, Anterior Cruciate Ligament Tear, Plantar Fascitis, Inversion Ankle Sprains, Osteoarthritis, and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
